Family Law
The Family Court hears matters involving children and families. It has the authority to make legal decisions over the following types of cases:
- Abused or Neglected Children
(Child Protective Proceedings) - Adoption
- Custody & Visitation
- Domestic Violence (Family Offense)
- Foster Care Approval & Review
- Guardianship
- Juvenile Delinquency
- Paternity
- Persons in Need of Supervision (PINS)
- Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements
- Child and/or Spousal Support
Some of these matters are more involved and complicated than others depending on the assets ands number of individuals involved. Other variables include the dynamics of the family relationship and can help determine the responsibilities and best interests of each involved party. Mr. Cohen understands from his practice the financial implications that can potentially be involved in family court matters and strives to get each matter resolved as expeditiously as possible to preserve the family’s assets.
